Director of Communications and Community Engagement

Gabriella Smith is currently the Director of Communications and Community Engagement for Horizon Behavioral Health with 5 years of experience in the field of public health promotion and community relations. Gabriella is a graduate of Liberty University earning a Bachelor's degree in Public Health: Health Promotion and a Master's in Public Health with a specialization in global health. She continues her education in pursuit of a certificate in Business Management and Leadership. She has dedicated her career to maximizing community resources, increasing access to services through targeted awareness efforts, and facilitating partnerships to address socioeconomic challenges at the local, state, and national levels. As a credentialed Community Health Education Specialist (CHES), Gabriella maintains that the foundation for positive change and improvement of health outcomes lies in holistic health promotion, advocacy on behalf of our most vulnerable populations, and a trauma informed perspective to behavioral change and information dissemination strategies. Gabriella is a certified Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Trainer, REVIVE Opioid Overdose Response Trainer, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Trainer, and Suicide Prevention Trainer through the QPR Institute.
