Unpaid Volunteer Opportunity (5 Positions available)

The Citizen Volunteer will act as an advocate for adult clients who have a diagnosis of intellectual disability, to ensure their human rights are communicated and protected.

This role ensures that the individuals receive those programs and services necessary to implement active treatment plans. He/she will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to review the treatment plans and any defined restraint devices per client to ensure a least-restrictive environment.

He/she will attend monthly Specially Constituted Committee meetings to contribute ideas and strategies.

He/she should have no ownership, controlling interest, or relationship with Horizon Behavioral Health.

The time commitment is 3-5 hours per month.

The Citizen Volunteer will complete and be found eligible for volunteering via a background check, TB screening, and drug screening.
